Joint communiqu¨¦
2nd Global Lamp Forum in Tokyo
We, associations representing global lamp manufacturers, have agreed to respect the efforts made by each country/region and to continue to work together with local and regional governments in their fight against climate change, and in line with upcoming G8 summit initiatives.
We believe that substantial worldwide energy savings can be achieved through the promotion of:
1)more energy efficient lamps; and 2)more energy efficient lighting systems
In order to realize the above objectives, members of the Global Lamp Forum intend to:
share knowledge of legislative trends with respect to lighting in the various countries and regions; share information on the various activities of individual associations; determine common areas of interest and seek opportunities for cooperation with government authorities; and provide governments with product and market information for various global initiatives, such as inefficient lamp phase-out and CFL initiatives.
We believe that global collaboration amongst lamp manufacturers in the above-mentioned areas can make a considerable contribution to energy savings and thereby to climate change mitigation.
